Scope of works : Garden Route Dam is a 39m high embankment dam constructed in 1980. It has a 25m wide by-wash spillway and channel on the right flank with a reinforced concrete sill, training walls ,and the upper portion of the channel lined with reinforced concrete.

The works entail raising the FSL by 2.56m by constructing a new concrete spillway upstream of the existing one and connecting onto the existing training walls. The top of the embankment, the NOC, will be raised 1.76m using earth and rock.
