Scope of works : This project comprised emergency flood repairs of the down-slope embankment at Chapman’s Peak Drive.

• Bulk earthworks.
• Relocation of existing services.
• The reinstatement of pavement layer works.
• Reinstatement of eroded embankments through the construction of a gravity wall built from gabion boxes and mattresses.
• The construction of manholes and laying of ducts along the outer edges of the road.
• Reinstatement of both the slopes and the pre-existing exposed aggregate stormwater channel.
• Construction of a barrier fence/railing at the gabion wall.
• Reinstatement of the roadway with asphalt layers.
• The installation of road studs.
• Revegetation of the working area after construction.
