Scope of works : An Amandla Umzali Joint Venture. The specific objective of this project is to increase the serviceable life of Main Road 240 from Vredenburg to Paternoster by rehabilitating and upgrading the existing pavement layers, improve the drainage where required and add new surfacing to the road surface. Also included, is the improvement of the safety of the road by widening of the surface width of the road, geometric realignment of certain sections of the road to improve sight distance, the upgrading of certain intersections on this section of road by surfacing and the improvement of the road signs and road markings.
